Danimals began as a solo project for 21 year old South African-born Sydney artist Jonti Danilewitz. Within months of discovery of Jontis music, Danimals had muscled into an adjoining live project, transcending the original concept for the squelchy-pop bedroom recordings & modulating into a brain-exploding, psychedic live experience.
Featuring members of Sherlocks Daughter, Mercy Arms, Phrase and I Like Cats, Danimals take a focus on undulating rhythms and the deconstruction of traditional song structures with three drummers revolving around synth & percussion stations, and an array of weird and wonderful gadgets.
Danimals have landed supports for international artists Metronomy and Girl Talk as well as slots at the Big Day Out, Laneway and Peats Ridge festivals.
